A post from Marie.....
I still have drop foot on my left leg. I can now move it straight but if I am not concentrating to hold it straight, it will still move and lean over to the right. I was given the okay to put weight on my legs, but only if I wear a boot on the right foot. I can't stand completely flat on my left foot because I can't bend it flat to stand on it. I also can't feel the bottom of it, so when I stand I put my weight on my left heal...oh...and I can't stand on my tip toes. Frustrating yes!
I can only use crutches and a walker now until they figure out how to fix the crookedness and nerves on my left foot. I can deal with not feeling my left middle leg, foot, and toes, but I just want to be able to put all my weight on both feet, not just right foot. Regardless, I am grateful to have both feet! If I had went to any other trauma hospital or had any other surgeon, I may not have my right foot. I got lucky (blessed)! I am Glad to be alive and still have my feet!!!!
I met the lady who owned the tree I hit. She works in the medical field and she saved me too! She knew what to do and what not to! If it wasn't for her, I know they would have had to take right foot and leg off and my back would have been more damaged. I am so happy to have crashed in the right lady's yard for sure!! She and my mom were my angles that day!
I have been on my back for almost 3 months and I am so ready to run!! Thank you Arliss and all my sisters for everything!! Thank you Linda!! Thank you Glenda for the late nights and early morning phone calls from me when I was crying so hard. Thank you Marlo, Arliss, LeAnn, Linda, and Glenda and Leann for taking turns putting your lives on hold to help me! I'm bessed! Thank you Dad and Tace for flying out here and doing your part! Thank u Kel for spending time with me! A big thank you to my friends here, Suzana and Jordan! Thank u! If it weren't for you two I could make butter or cooking oil from the grease in my hair. I know it is way out of your way to drive here to wash my hair all the time. You have no clue how much that means to me to! Thanks girls! Love u 2!!!
