It has been several long months for Marie. She has been at home continuing to heal and still works hard at her physical therapy. She has been able to take several steps; however, one step forward usually means one step backwards for her. Yesterday, she went in for her 4th surgery. This one was due to a severe infection that set in on her left leg. Her leg started to reject the implanted plates and screws. It has been extremely painful once again to endure another surgery.
The surgeon opened her up yesterday and scraped/cleaned out all of the infection, as well as removed all of her hardware. This will make her left left more unstable now, but there was no other option. It was an outpatient surgery that lasted 4 hours, but she was well taken care of by her son Kel who has attended to her "EVERY" need these last two days. Glenda had a tripped planned so it worked out that she arrived there tonight.
We now hope and ask for your prayers for the infection to clear up, added strength and marrow to her bones, and a speedy recovery.
Marie's words: "Thank you to everyone for your prayers and support!!" She also says she won't endure another surgery. We hope and pray she doesn't have to.
The first pic below is the infection...oooozing out through scar tissue.
